What can you do with a buck?

Grab a candy bar? Hit a value menu? Change a life?

If you've ever wanted to help, wanted to give back, but you believed you wouldn't make a real impact, we want you to know that one person – one moment – CAN make a difference.

Right now, there are 500,000 families in the United States dealing with young-onset Alzheimer's disease. This rare form of the disease can tear families apart in ways you wouldn't expect when you think of "Alzheimer's". Young-onset can strike people as young as their 30s, leaving them to deal with a unique set of circumstances that could leave a family paralyzed.

Thousands of families are searching for help with dealing with the financial, physical, and emotional stresses brought on by caring for a loved one with young-onset Alzheimer's, but instead, they find themselves on waiting lists.

And if you think your dollar can't do anything to help, we're thrilled to tell you that you're wrong. Today – right now – you can help us to help them.

A blizzard starts with a single snowflake.
Raging infernos can begin with just a spark.

A life-changing movement can begin with even the smallest of gestures.

You can start to make something amazing happen in two, simple steps.

Step One:
Donate a buck. Just $1. Give up your paper for the day. Skip the candy bar. Give that buck to a family in need of help.

Step Two:
Copy the challenge below (or write your own, we're not picky), and send it to your entire online contact list. Your Facebook friends, your email address book, your Twitter followers – everybody.

We're asking you to give us $1, and five minutes.

How does this help? It's simple:

Let's say you have a total of 500 contacts online. If 5% of those 500 people accept your challenge, we've raised a quick $26. If each of those 25 people get 15 more to accept their challenge, we've now raised over $400. If each of those 15 people get 15 more to join them, we've now raised over $5,600.

If you ever wanted to be part of something incredible, why not now?

Be the spark. Start the fire.

Once you've donated, feel free to copy this suggested text, and challenge your online friends and family to match your contribution of $1 and five minutes:

"I've just given $1 and five minutes to help families dealing with young-onset Alzheimer's. I'm sending this to you and to all of my online contacts, challenging you all to do the same. Give $1, and ask your friends and family online to join you. You can learn more about the cause by visiting this site, and you can donate by clicking here. Together we can do something amazing. Please help us!"
